Founded in 1997, San Diego Hua Xia Chinese School (SDHXCS) is a non-profit, non- religious, and non- political educational organization with 501(c)(3) status.  The school is the first local Chinese language school that teaches simplified Chinese and Pinyin (Chinese phonetic). 

          Our mission is to provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for students to acquire skills of comprehension, communication, reading and writing in Mandarin Chinese,to instill an awareness of the Chinese heritage, creating programs to introduce Chinese culture to the community, and to promote mutual understanding between different ethnic groups. 

          Our school grow rapidly since very beginning. With enrollment over 1,100 each school year, SDHXCS has become the largest Chinese language educational organization in San Diego.  Five programs (Bilingual, Regular, Credit, AP Chinese, and Enrichment) offer 60 Chinese classes and over 30 enrichment classes to meet the needs of our students with different levels of proficiency and interests.

          In 2003, SDHXCS's Credit Program (Level I through Level IV) was born. The program is widely accredited by local school districts. In 2006, AP Chinese course was added. The course is approved by and registered with College Board.

Weekly Reminder 2014-02-09
This coming Sunday 2/9 is the fun day! Hua Xia Chinese New Year Festival will be held at Hourglass field on Miramar College campus. Here are some information for you:
1) Here are the event flier, Hourglass Park field map, and the Program(draft). 
2) Students are required to arrive at the designated assembly area no later than 9:30amfor the opening ceremony. 
3) The assembly area is marked by pole signs of all grade levels. Your team leader should be waiting for you by the sign of your grade level, i.e., if you are a 2nd grader, go to CH2 sign. If you are a Credit Level III student, go to L3 sign, and so on.
4) To ensure the program run on time, everyone needs to follow the instruction of your team leaders, and the General Director of the event. Your team leader will take you to the correct match lane for each game.
5)  The timeline listed on the program is estimated. Program may roll faster if everything goes smoothly. 
6) Park your car as usual at Lot #1 and #2, and walk couple of hundreds of yards to the field. 
7) No Cash trade at the Festival. Raffle tickets are $0.50 each sold at the 2 ticket booths on site. With a $20 purchase of tickets, you will have a chance to win prize. Prize drawing goes on through out the event.
8) If you have food allergy, PLEASE DO NOT purchase any food at the Festival!!
