Dear SDHXCS families,

We are getting busier toward the last weeks of the school year. Here are the keynotes for the coming Sundays:

• Our school now has a WeChat official account（微信公众号: SDHXCS）, which will be an efficient information sharing platform for our school and Chinese education-related topics. Attached is the QR code that you can scan and follow the account. Please share it with your friends and family. The 2019-20 registration Q&A is posted to the account tonight

• 2019-20 online registration is now open (FAQ). Current SDHXCS students will need the student ID to login to the moodle account for registration. If you don’t know your ID, please contact your teacher. $35 Registration fee is waived for current students if the registration is completed before 5/19. Attached you will find the keynotes for the registration. Please refer to our school website Registration page for details. Enrichment registration will be ready by early August

• Credit Program Placement test is scheduled on 4/28 (current SDHXCS students) & 5/5 (non-current SDHXCS students) 12:00pm – 1:30pm check in 11:30am at classroom I-101A. Our credit program is for students going to 7^th grade and up in their daily school for 2019-20. Please see the attached announcement for details and the Q&A for the placement test. No makeup test for the placement test

• Books are on sale this Sunday at H building lobby. Our credit program will start to use the 4^th edition of the Integrated Chinese. The inventory of all the 3^rd edition will be on sale this Sunday. We will have other Chinese reading and study options as well. Come to take a look

• We are recruiting the dragon dance team for a 5-min performance at the Asian Culture Festival in Mira Mesa on May 4^th (Saturday) at 1:00 pm and for a performance at Ashley Falls Elementary School International Night on May 10^th (Friday) at 6:30pm. The practice is scheduled on 4/21 & 4/28 from 12:00pm – 1:30pm with lunch provided. • The registration to Chinese Culture Knowledge Group Competition (汉语文化知识抢答竞赛) is open for SDHXCS students 4^th grader and up. The registration deadline is 5/12 and the competition date is 6/2. This will be a fun group competition before the summer break kickoff. Please see attached details for this competition

• The 2018-19 graduation ceremony is scheduled on 6/1 2:00pm – 5:00pm at Qualcomm Q Auditorium. If you would like to share your talent on the stage, please submit your application by 5/11 using the attached Performance_Registration form. The Teacher Appreciation Dinner will follow on the same date 6/1 starting 6:30pm

• Chinese essay contests “华文创想曲创意作文大赛”due date 5/1 and “第十二届世界华人学生作文大赛”due date 5/13. Please see attached flyers for details

• The anonymous parent survey is still ongoing. Your participation is really appreciated, and our students will eventually benefit. A softcopy of the survey is attached. • Good news! An H-mart flagship store is coming soon close to Balboa Avenue. I am working with H-Mart headquarter representative looking for some benefits for our parents and the school as part of their new store grand opening promotion. Stay tuned
